Charlotte's Web is a High CBD strain that was bred by the Stanley Brothers in Colorado. Rising to popularity due to its mass media coverage in the medical case of Charlotte Figi, an American girl that was suffering from Dravet syndrome and was using CBD oil to manage her seizures. Charlotte Figi had been dealing with seizures and medical complications from 3 months old. Her parents began experimenting with giving their daughter CBD oil and treatments in hopes of trying something new to help combat the serious complications when all other medicines had failed. The story made its way into the mass media spotlight with major coverage by CNN and other outlets with key medical figures such as Dr. Sanjay Gupta covering her story in his Weed documentary. Charlotte's Web strains typically contain less than 0.3% THC and hover around the 17% CBD mark, making it ideal for those that want to try CBD but avoid the traditional cannabis high. The low THC level helps ensure that patients would avoid a psychoactive high in search of its presumed medical benefits. In the United States, Charlotte's Web is a trademarked strain under Charlotte's Web Inc. based in Colorado. Charlotte, unfortunately, passed away in 2020 due to COVID-19 complications but her legacy and inspirational story of her family lives on through the strain.
